Route 60 Diner: Reviews & Ratings
We stopped by for breakfast for the first time. It is small but has covered outdoor seating as well. They do serve lunch as well. We both ordered omelettes with potatoes. We are used to breakfast being the big meal like most places serve and found their portions to be on the small side. The service was quick and the coffee was decent. The food was seasoned well but unfortunately, my husband left hungry and required a stop on the way home. For us it didn’t meet the breakfast standard.
Must of passed this little gem dozens of times. We finally decided to try it. Wow super awesome Cuban. Wifey had a cheese burger that was good. Fries and tots were tasty and not salty. Black beans and rice is delicious with fresh chopped onions and green peppers on top. Our new lake wales stop. Breakfast is the most popular meal however the sandwiches are great.
IF YOU BLINK,YOU WILL MISS IT! Reminds me of the Florida that I grew up in before the population boom. Small-town family feel, and the food fits the ambiance. Not many places make better biscuits and gravy, and I have never had a better sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. The grits and hashbrowns are also noteworthy.
Overall - I liked Route 60 Diner. I went in hoping for a cup of coffee and a slice of pie. But, there was NO pie. What - a diner without fresh pies???? I ordered a tuna salad - good tuna mix, the lettuce was cold and crisp and the hard boiled egg was good. The coffee served was hot and good. Just, NO pie - too bad.
Tried a new spot today! There’s a cute little diner off Highway 60, not too far from where I live. I decided to check it out after my son raved about it, so my other son and I gave it a try today. I had grits, bacon, toast, and coffee. The food wasn’t bad at all. It was a classic diner style breakfast, but I will say it was a little pricey for just the two of us. Still, the location is super convenient, and the place has a nice, cozy vibe. I might give it another visit sometime soon just because it’s close by and has that small town charm.
This place is cute. They have good food with decent prices. For three of us and an extra plate to go was around 65.00. The menu has a good variety of options or you can do a la cart.. I highly recommend stopping here if you want a quick bite to eat. They also have an outside area. Also gotta say good service!
Great breakfast at Route 60 Diner While staying at the River Ranch, we stopped by Route 60 Diner and were pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food was. We ordered 2 Western omelets with potatoes, and it was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious—cooked to order just the way I like it. Though the diner is small, it appeared clean and well-maintained inside. The staff provided excellent and prompt customer service. We also enjoyed cold glasses of orange juice and a hot, big cup of coffee—both were fantastic. Everything tasted very fresh, and our order was taken and served quickly. There was front parking, and there was additional parking located on a dirt road—just something to note. Also, they close at 2 PM, so be sure to visit early in the day. Highly recommend this spot for a delicious, no-fuss breakfast!
My kids and I were craving something new, so we embarked on a short drive east to discover some hidden gems. My daughter's eyes lit up when she spotted a sign that read "Breakfast all day," and she insisted we stop there for lunch. With the kids having a half-day at school, none of us had eaten lunch yet. As we walked in, we realized it was just a minute until closing time. However, the staff's warm hospitality truly shone through – despite our late arrival, they kindly insisted we stay and enjoy a meal. We were grateful for their accommodating service. The food was absolutely delightful! It was the perfect blend of hometown homemade goodness we were looking for. My daughter aptly put it, "This is why we need to follow where the Misters and Misses go!" The country fried steak and potatoes were mouthwatering, and the French toast was a masterclass in textures and flavors, topped with a delicious cinnamon sugar sprinkle. The biscuits and gravy were so comforting that we all returned home feeling satisfied and cozy, with a great nap in store. If you find yourself in East Lake Wales and hungry before 2 pm, do make sure to visit this charming spot. We're thankful for the warm welcome and the scrumptious homemade food that filled our bellies with joy! Thank you for letting us stay and eat, and filling my babies tummies with yummy home food goodness! We will definitely be back!!!
